which starters are most important for the New York Jets on offense. I think when we analyze a unit,

like the offense or the defense, we frequently list who the best players are.

But there's a subtle distinction and an important distinction between who the best players are and who the most critical players are.

And a lot of this has to do with the amount of talent you have at each position.

Let me give you an example.

If you were going through the Cincinnati Bengals roster, Jamar Chase is an elite level receiver. He's obviously a

very important player for that team. But if something happened to Jamar Chase, the Cincinnati Bengals

would still have a pretty dynamic passing game because they'd still have Joe Burrow at

quarterback. They still have a legitimate number one receiver in T. Higgins to go to.

So while Jamar Chase is obviously very important, you know, the offense could still function

without him.

And on the New York Jets, I think there are certain starters.

The offense would take a hit if they went down, but the offense would at least be able to register

some reasonable imitation with the backup in there. So let's start by talking about the most

important player on the offense. And to me, this is Garrett Wilson. And it's a bit of an odd thing

to say for me. And I'll admit that because if you've been listening to the show every day, we call you every day or this is a podcast. We have new episodes each day through the week, Monday, through Friday. You've heard me talk a lot in recent weeks about how I think the Jets are really going to lean into the run game this year. And a lot of that has to do with the personnel. The Jets have a pretty strong backfield.
