And this is a great place to pray. This is where Jesus pray. This is where I believe it is that we know that Peter had a

sleeping disorder. No, he couldn't, you know, stay awake. And so anyway, that's another topic for

another time. I want to talk about the rapture, my favorite subject. And I want to talk about how it connects to the ancient

Jewish wedding customs. When we partake together of communion later today at the Garden Tomb,

which is going to be a, almost without exception, the

garden tomb is the highlight of the trip for many. I know for me the very first time I walked

in to that empty tomb, there were no words in the English language, as faulty as it is,

to describe the feeling of walking into that empty tomb

where the body of the Savior once lay. And that's what is coming up. And this does have its place

in the communion table. And I'll explain why I'll move kind of quickly here. But the Jewish

wedding is a picture, a type of what it's going to be like for us at the marriage supper of the

lamb. Jesus Christ being our bridegroom. This is how it works. The groom's father makes the match.

It's called the Shiddukin and chooses the bride and the groom approves of the choice.

That's the Jewish wedding custom. And so too does our father, our heavenly father, choose us as the bride,

and Jesus, the bridegroom, approves the choice. This is John's Gospel chapter 10 and chapter 15.

After this, a marriage covenant called the Kadubah is made in writing for the bride

as a promise to the bride that it will be fulfilled. And so too, for us, a new covenant is made

in the written word of God.

That's the problem.

The new covenant is made in the written word of God for us as his bride and the old covenant promise is fulfilled.
