podcast. As you might expect we're joined again by Rochelle Greer. She's a

garden and landscape designer. She's been doing that for quite some time, over 18 years now.

And there are two boot camps, and I think you know we've been talking about these already they're called

Garden Design Boot Camp and Planting Design Boot Camp. So the last two episodes of the

show we've been talking about garden design mistakes,

and we're going to talk about one garden design mistake

that everyone makes, including myself,

and I'm sure you've also made it to Rochelle,

that's just thinking with the plants that you want first.

And so I'm going to let you take this away, Rochelle, because I think you put it really well.

Yeah, so, I mean, of course we think of the plants first, like that is what a garden is, is a place for plants.

But, you know, I like to tell people if you were to imagine garden design and designing your garden and creating your garden as a 10-step process,

it's somewhere maybe around there, I could break it down into 10 steps,

but if you were to imagine it to be a precisely 10-step process, picking out the plants is typically somewhere around step eight.

So the problem is that most people skip to step eight first and start to go into nurseries and picking off that they like and

trying to figure out where they're going to put it right or maybe they you know I'm

particularly bad at going to the nursery buying things I love and then literally

having them sit on my driveway waiting for me.

I just say I buy it and then I go.
