I mean, in large part, that's what MMA is, all the way along the journey.

All the way as I go back as a fan and a participant, and I was embarrassed to tell people what I did

because the stigma and the belief around it, the human cockfighting, you remember some of these things.

There was even a while where if I said the UFC, they didn't know what that was and I would take the time to explain. I can remember specifically, getting my haircut, I can remember specifically. Trying to tell them what it was, trying to tell them what it stood for. And eventually they said, oh, so that's like boxing. And I said yes. And after doing this dance three or four times, because I remember thinking it was cool. I mean,

when I told somebody I'm in the UFC, I was bragging. I'm attempting to tell a story. I've worked

hard. I'm a good athlete. I'm a tough guy. Like I was trying to tell a story. The story just kept

failing. So I got to where I would always, and people would always come to the conclusion after I did go through a three-minute introduction with them.

They would always come to the same conclusion.
