| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the intersection of faith and culture. It's The Wall Builder Show. We're taking on the hot topics of the day from a biblical, historical, and constitutional perspective. And the winning just continues. So many good things happening right now. It feels like every day is a good news Friday. Today is also a good |
| 0:21.2 | news program because kids are getting the right worldview, new programs developing all the time to |
| 0:27.1 | help replace colleges, which is what we need to do so they don't waste money for four years and |
| 0:31.9 | waste four years of their life and go get indoctrinated. So, you know, for some kids, it might still |
| 0:36.5 | be the good idea to go to college. |
| 0:37.8 | If you're going to be an engineer, doctor, lawyer, or whatever. But, man, I am loving the fact that more and more of |
| 0:42.3 | these programs are offering the same opportunity my three kids, three of my four kids, had the opportunity to do at Leaders Academy in Hot Springs. |
| 0:49.3 | And later in the program, we got Jeff Myers with us, who does Summit Ministries, which has a summer program, and they have |
| 0:54.4 | a Gap Your program as well. So it's going to be great to talk to Jeff about that. Tim, you've, of course, |
| 0:59.5 | taught at Leaders Academy, Patriot Academy. You've probably been out at Summit and a lot of these other |
| 1:03.2 | programs as well. This is really cool to see these new opportunities for families to not just do the |
| 1:08.6 | typical college route that just isn't the winning formula for the |
| 1:12.3 | future for most young people. Yeah, one of the things that during the summer when we do our |
| 1:17.8 | summer institute program, we, one of the things I will often point out to students is one of the |
| 1:23.9 | biggest mistakes that people make in college is we still base, at least parents, |
| 1:29.6 | base a lot of credibility, kind of value assessment on having it agree. And they'll brag about |
| 1:36.9 | what university their student goes to and if it's prestigious, et cetera, et cetera. But the reality is, |
| 1:42.6 | it's like, I think it's less than 27% of students that |
| 1:47.9 | once they graduate, they find a job in, not in the specific arena of their degree, but in the |
| 1:56.2 | generalized field of their degree. I think it's around one fourth. I think it's a little under 27%. |
| 2:03.7 | And this was from a couple years ago. I can't imagine it's improved since then. But most kids get a |
| 2:08.0 | degree and they're not able to do anything with the degree they have. They have to find a job |
