The lawyers for the man accused of murdering four University of Idaho students last year

will get to see some of the key genetic genealogy evidence that helped identify him as a suspect.

Prosecutors say his DNA was found on a knife sheath under one of the bodies.

They also say they don't plan to use the evidence at trial, but the judge ruled the

defense should be able to see some of the evidence in advance.

A hearing will be held to determine exactly which evidence the defense will be allowed

to see.

It appears winter has arrived.

The major cold snap has a lot of the country seeing temperatures 20 to 30 degrees lower than

normal.

The change happened just in time for trick-or-treaters to head out last night.

It will stretch through the week.

About 135 million Americans were under frost or freeze alerts, including the deep south.

According to the CDC, the U.S. birth rate from 2007 to 2022 fell by 22 percent.

The data also shows that not one state reported an increase in birth rates.

Some states did experience a slower decline than others, with North Dakota experiencing

the lowest around 9 percent.

Arizona and Utah saw the highest decrease, about 36 percent.
