Police and Maine were sent to check on the man who killed 18 people in a mass shooting

just weeks before it happened.

There are multiple reports that the Maine National Guard asked local police to check on the

suspect after a soldier he worked with felt he may snap and commit a mass shooting.

Officers tried to contact the suspect on September 16th, a little over a month before the incident

took place.

He was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Friday night.

The TSA is asking travelers to be aware of what's in their bags when they pass through

airport security this week.

People can fly in costume, but they should keep costume makeup to a minimum, so security

agents can still recognize them at the ID checkpoint.

Be ready to remove any Halloween masks or avoid wearing it altogether.

Large bags of candy should be removed from carry-on bags and placed in their own bin.

But keep in mind, costume props like hatchets, pitchforks, and brooms have to be placed

in checked bags.

Most of explosives, including fake grenades, are prohibited in both carry-on and checked

baggage.

And finally, open enrollment for healthcare insurance under the Affordable Care Act

starts this week.
