I'm John Voorhees, and I have a very special guest with me today.

Well, thanks for joining me. We have Federico is off doing secret things. I'm sure that probably

in the next episode of MacStories Unwind, you'll hear a little bit about

Federico's adventures. So I don't want to spoil it. I'll let him, let him spill the beans

when we record that show. But I thought Brendan and I could get together today to do something

kind of adjacent to both NPC and App Stories and talk about apps that are related to gaming.

Now, not games themselves.

We'll have some of that in the post show for App Stories Plus listeners.

But for the main show, I wanted to talk about the games that we, or the apps that we use

in and around playing games on mobile devices and other and other other

platforms. But before we get to that, because the betas have just been released for the public

betas for all of Apple's platforms, I thought we would pause for a moment and talk a little bit

about the games app because I think that when this was first rumored,

everybody assumed that the games app was going to be a storefront, that Apple was dividing

the app store into two parts. And I think a lot of people thought that sounded like a good idea.

And then when it wasn't that, people, the reaction has been, oh, this is just

Game Center reconstituted into an app. And I don't think it's really quite fair to characterize
