First, Hulu.

It's the online joint venture of Fox and NBC that streams free Hollywood entertainment.

It launched last week as the anti-I-Tunes, with about 250 TV episodes and 100 movies from some 50 partners.

Hulu's free, in the sense that no money leaves your wallet, but you do pay by watching ads that can't be zapped.

Happily, the commercials are shorter and less frequent than on regular network television.
