Well, after a thrilling 5-4 hockey game that had a little bit of everything against Tampa the

other night, this was the big moment when Michael Kempney collapsed along the boards and went down,

had to be helped off the ice as he fell awkwardly onto his left leg.

We heard after the game that they'd have to wait and see, but it could be a while.

That is a scary sight, seeing your top pair defensemen being helped off.

So we waited for today after a day off yesterday, and we do have an update as we welcome you to Caps.

Todd Reardon, giving us an update on Michael Kempney.

You'll be without him for an indefinite amount of time right now?

We're just getting some more tests before we can make an official time statement on that.

But I would just say right now that indefinitely he's out of our lineup.

Is there a chance he could miss the season?

Yeah.

Yeah, I mean, I've been not that far yet?

Yeah, I mean, I just don't feel comfortable saying that until I get a little bit more medical advice on that one.

And so we go through all the proper testing we need to know

so we can set that proper timetable.

And then, but right now I just plan on not having them for an indefinite amount of time.

You guys have to make a recall.

I guess before you go on the road, you could probably not get through the six.
