Jiren Petty. We're here to talk about the 100 greatest console video games, or so it

is decreed by author Brett Weiss in his new book of the same name. He must be British.

Well, we thought because there are actually a lot of obscure British games on this list, but

Jared is in research. He's actually a Texan. Yeah, Brett Weiss is and he speaks and I think he may

be a native Texan or been there while because he speaks with a draw. I saw a YouTube video of him.

Well, then he's very familiar with British games. Yeah, yeah, he seems to be well acquainted.

Or games that were more popular in Britain. I will say I'm glad you invited me, Damon, because I'm

uniquely suited to be part of this conversation. Having written a top 400 games of all time.

It's a masterwork. It's available on IGN.com. This feels atop list though. Yeah, we did. Yeah.

So what how many did you do? I did 36 because I was 36 at the time. Oh, very cool.

I did 67 and it was an interactive adventure game. And you're now 68 years old.

Yeah, I am 68 years old. That's why I did it. Yeah. Yeah. One more to

particular is not of all time. This is the 100 greatest console games from 1977 to 87. So that

decade there. And console games. console video games. So no PC games, no arcade games.

Which is one of the weird. Well, that's one of the weird things about this list. Yeah, because like

lots of ports of arcade games. I counted between 49 and 50 depending on how you count it.

The games in this book are arcade ports. So it's very strange. And let us be fair here.

There's some really good arcade ports. Absolutely. Stinky ones. There are a few stinky ones in

there. But there's a lot of good ones. And stinky ports of the same game to another system.

Like the Coleco Donkey Kong versus the Atari. We're going to Donkey Kong versus the Nintendo Donkey Kong.
