What's up everybody, welcome to IG and Game Scoop, I'm your host Damon Hatfield, I'm

joined today by Marty Sleeva, Jose Otero, and Karl Moriardio, three gentlemen that were

recently in Japan for the Tokyo Game Show.

And I'm interested in hearing about your impressions of the Japanese gaming industry,

the state of Japanese games, gamers, consoles, because when I was there a year ago for TGS,

there are a lot of games at the show, very few console games, as compared to a show of

ours like E3.

It just seemed like they weren't that interested in console gaming anymore, but now we're

on the eve of the launch of PlayStation 4, Wii U is out there now, I don't know, I only

hear what you guys thought.

Yeah, we were actually, we were just at lunch with Mitch Dyer, and he made the point

he said Japan is a mobile country now.

So not necessarily iOS or Android, but the country moves around, it's like that on

the wall.

It's just the spirit that runs around.

Yeah, but it's very much, they play on their phones, they play on their 3DSs, do they

play on their VDS?

They still play on their VDSs?

Yeah, so I think gaming is as prevalent as ever, but it's just a different sort of

type of gaming.

It was record attendance this year, wasn't it?

Yeah, I think it's 200,000 something crazy like that.
