Summary

The Nats lost the home stand opener 3-2 on Monday evening to Cincinnati. Mark & Al begin with the very curious and costly decision by Stone Garrett to try and steal 2nd Base in the bottom of the 9th. Hear how Davey Martinez responded to Garrett getting thrown out for the 2nd out in the final frame. (09:40) Joey Meneses was slotted 5th in the lineup as opposed to his usual placement of 3rd or 4th in the order. Meneses really struggled in June as he only came up with six hits the entire month. (18:50) Jake Irvin took the loss, but pitched decently for the 4th straight outing. A month ago his ERA was at 5.81, but ever since having his spot in the rotation was skipped, it is now down to 4.70. After he departed; the "B" Bullpen held the Reds scoreless over the final three innings. (26:50) Quick turnaround on Tuesday morning as the Nats host their annual July 4th game at 11AM. Are you a fan of the tradition in DC? (30:00) Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline ends the show with an updated scouting report on Brady House. Learn more about your ad choices.
