Well, Alan, I guess if I had a choice or I gave you a choice of two words to describe the Caps for one win in New Jersey, would you choose methodical or boring?

Both.

That's one word, right?

Yeah, it was methodically boring a performance.

But it's a win, and they need those at this time of year.

Absolutely.

You know what?

There was games. They lost second game of the

season, fourth game of the season. What was it? Six nothing. Fourth game of the season and a back-to-back

after a week off, they played Boston here. Was it Boston? Or was that opening night? The night after

Vegas, after they trounce Vegas, they went into New Jersey and were soundly beaten 6-0.

And really the only guy that stood out that night was Phoenix Copley in a loss.

And then you look at tonight, you know, methodical, did their thing and found a way to win decisively able to play every forward over 12 minutes of even strength ice time played all

their defensemen about the same amount and we're able to stay fresh for the game they have coming

up billy it is true what locker said during the game broadcast it's nice when good things

happen to good people brett connelly is good people. One of the best interviews on the team.

He's open. He's honest. He's always available. And the dude's been through a lot. He's just 26 years

old. And he gets to the 20 goal plateau for the first time in his career in a contract year.

Well, that is great for him and his agent. You could tell by the way, I think, he looked when he talked to locker in intermission, the weight was off. I think he was really gunning for this, you know, when it was kind of close that he was going to do it and kind of within reach, I think you could tell he really wanted it. And I'm happy for him. He deserves it, and it's great for the Caps, too.

Well, I spoke to him on Monday, and he said, I hope I do this quickly so it doesn't hang around and linger. And he got it done in the very next game against the Devils.
