Summary

The Nats lost 4-2 on Saturday to Philadelphia to move behind the Phillies by a game in the standings. Al starts with MacKenzie Gore's OK outing where he allowed nine hits in six frames on the mound. Gore lasted 101 pitches in the afternoon and his ERA is currently at 3.66. (06:15) Only two relievers were used as the "A Bullpen" got the day off following Friday night's workload. Chad Kuhl threw two scoreless frames and his numbers out of the 'pen are far better than as a starter. (14:10) The Washington Post reported that Stephen Strasburg is dealing with "severe nerve damage". Hear more about the difficult situation for both the pitcher and the franchise. (23:00) Al reads an email about the Nationals options at the #2 pick in next month's Draft. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Now 2 and 1 to Tray. The pitch. So we're in a line drive. Deep left field toward the corner. Will it stay fair? It's back there and it is fair. Off the wall. Heading home as Sosa to third. Castiano. Sliding it at second with a wall ball double as Trey Turner. And the Phillies lead two to nothing. Now the 1-1. Abrams hits a ground ball to first. Step on the bag there. Now it's a timing play. The run will score. Ruiz caught a run down, but this is a tie game. Ruiz is tagged up by Turner. That's a great job by the Nationals to get in the rundown. With the first baseman Ellis stepping on first. That took away the force play.
