On Caps, Game Day Live, on Facebook Live, Alan, someone said, the Caps just need to play a full 60 minutes. They didn't quite play a full 60 minutes, but they played 40 really good minutes, and they got the win over Vancouver. Well, the most important thing is they had a great first period. 18 shots to 5, they outshot the opposition tonight, and I thought they were moving their legs. It wasn't like they were chasing the puck.

They had it. They were shooting when they had chances, skating in straight lines,

tempo and pace on the back check. That's how you have to play to start a game. But I felt like

they let the Vancouver Cucks hang around a little too long in this game because of that poor

Ovechkin has tons of milestones he's going to get to, but I know anytime he sets a record for a

Russian-born player, it's important to him. He beats Sergei Federoff in 193 fewer games. That's

impressive. Old teammate too, right? A guy he knows really well.

Federoff came in here and I think 08 at the trade deadline and helped them make the playoffs

and came back.

So, you know, a really meaningful night for Ovechkin.

I know records at this point for him are probably not that big a deal, but I think that one does have a little extra meaning, even if it was on a secondary assist. It wasn't like an all-timer, but that's all right, he'll take it. When he tells his kid about it, it'll be an unbelievable play. And J.J. Regan, welcome to the Capitals Talk podcast.
