So the nationals now in the 2023, regular season, have scored a total of 224 runs. 30 of those runs,

13.4 percent have been sixth inning runs. And 12 of the Nats 30, six inning runs have been

scored over just the first two games of this three-game series at the Kansas City Royals.

Friday night, a wild 12-10 win in which the Nats had an eight-run six.

Saturday, a more mild-mannered four-two win in which the Nats scored all four of their runs in the game in the sixth inning. The Nats now

are 23 and 29. They on Sunday afternoon will try for their first sweep of a series, any series,

since August 2021. The Nats haven't had a three-game sweep of a series since June 2021,

haven't swept a road series of at least three games since August 2019.

But Mark, the sixth inning is the inning for the nationals, at least so far this weekend.

This has really been something.

I don't know if there's a great explanation for it, except to say that they've just been

outstanding.
