Summary

The Nats lost 3-2 in Atlanta on an evening where Patrick Corbin left the game in the 1st inning due to discomfort in his back. Al & Tim open with the narrow defeat for Washington as they could not capitalize with the bases loaded in the top of the 9th. (07:48) Corbin only recorded two outs before exiting on Tuesday night. Could this end his season? He entered the evening with 18 losses on the season and no pitcher has lost 20 games since 2003 (Mike Maroth- Detroit). The Nationals were able to only use four relievers to cobble together the rest of the game. (20:45) Maury Wills, Dodgers great and D.C. native, passed away at age 89. Wills stole 104 bases in 1962 and was All Star Game MVP that season when it was held in D.C. Should he make it to Cooperstown? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

No, score two out of runner at first for the Braves who were in the bottom of the first inning here at Atlanta.

Now Corbyn's stepping off and walking down behind the mound for a moment. I don't know if

0:22.5

something's bothering him. Yeah, I think something is bothering. He might be cramping up here. He's doing

some deep stretching. He got examined. It's back spasms. So we'll see how he feels tomorrow.

Throw a pitch and tighten up on him. So, you know, we watched him. He started trying to stretch. We went out there and he said it just cramped up on him. He couldn't get loose. He tried to get back on the mound. As he was going back on the mound, he said he just couldn't get loose. So the smart thing to do is get him out of there. Ramirez Deals. Swinging a high drive, left center field and deep. Long chase going back, Hernandez and Robles, looking up at the wall and it's gone. Two-0-0-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-80. Looking for that clutch hit here. Jansen kicks, delivers the pitch. Swing and a fly ball, left center field, play for Harris, backing up, shy of the track, makes the catch, and the Braves hold on and win it.

Tuesday night rallied. They battled. The boys battled, as Davey Martinez likes to say, but

the Nats ultimately did lose a three-two loss at the National League wildcard leading Atlanta Braves in game two of a three-game series.

That's now a major league worst, 51 and 97, including 13 and 49 against the National League East.

That really is something, right?

49 losses in 62 games against the division this season. But the

Nants did almost author an impressive come from behind win. The Nants in the top of the nine

trailed 3-1, scored a run of Braves closer Kenley Janssen, had the bases loaded with two outs

and the team's cleanup batter.

2:17.6

The starting D.H. Luke Void had the played, but he then flew out to center field to end the game.

2:24.0

Watching the game, Tim, did you believe, did you have belief in the boys pulling off what would have been a pretty improbable come from behind win?

2:33.7

No, not for one second, Al.

I've been watching this team for almost six months, and I knew it was going to end with them
