The Mets are about to be the houseguess who won't leave. The Nats offense basically did nothing for eight innings. Then came a two-run ninth off Mets closer, Edwin Diaz, and then came Austin Voth, giving up four runs three earned in the top of the 10th inning. Nats have dropped six straight. Now we're 23 games below 500 at 55 and 78. But as we like to say, it's not about the

outcomes of these games. It's about the potential building blocks in these games. And this was

another game in which there was a lot to like Riley Adams, Louise Garcia, Lane Thomas,

Patrick Murphy. And we got drama. Andrew Stevenson, a headfirst flip off a collision with the

Mets catcher Chan Sisko in a route to scoring the game-tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning

during a game in which Davy Martinez was on crutches. This could have been quite the dramatic ending

or at least a major moment in a Nationals win on Friday
