Ahead of a big week of international travel throughout Asia coming up, President Trump gathered up high-level

members of his administration to discuss crime. Both Wednesday and Thursday, the president

insisted they have the authority to strike boats coming out of Venezuela. They say have been

full of drugs. However, the president does want to tackle the drug running on land in much the same way. You know, the land is going to be next. And we may go to the Senate. We may go to the, you know, Congress and tell them about it. But I can't imagine that have any problem with it. I think, in fact, while we're here, I think it's a good idea, Pete, you go to Congress, you tell them about it. What are they going to do to say, gee, we don't want to stop drugs pouring in. But the president also remains focused on using the National Guard inside American cities to fight crime. He highlighted the success of the deployment in D.C. But the federal government has more power over the District of Columbia than other cities within states. He said at Thursday's

roundtable, they've seen a reduction in crime in Memphis due to the Guard deployment. The leaders

of tech companies like Facebook and NVIDIA got him to hold off on deploying the Guard in San
