So we're starting a new book today, the book of Galatians. We have just completed Second

Corinthians, and this is the next book in the New Testament as we go through the Bible, book by book,

and chapter by chapter and verse by verse. So I'll invite you at this time to turn in your Bibles to the first chapter of Galatians,

and our text will be verses 1 through 9 today.

Once you do that, if you're able, if not that's alright, but please stand.

You can follow along as I read.

We'll begin in verse 1, where the Apostle Paul is writing by the Holy Spirit and says, verse 1,

Paul, an apostle sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him from the

debt and all the brothers and sisters with me to the churches in Galatia.

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,

who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

I, verse 6, am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel, which is really no gospel at all.

Evidently, some people are throwing you into confusion and trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.

But even verse 8, if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preach to you, let them be under

God's curse, as we have already said. So now I say again, if anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted,

let them be under God's curse.

Wow.

Loving Heavenly Father, would you, by the Holy Spirit, would you, by the Holy Spirit, just settle us and enable us to understand and see what you want us to see,

what you want to show to us here this morning in and through your

word. That's why we're here. We're here because we, with great anticipation, long for you

to speak into our lives and minister to us.
