Hey, everybody, it's Matt. This is the 10-minute Bible Hour podcast. And yesterday I did the thing, again, where I meant to get through all the stuff that I said we were going to do. But there's a lot of stuff. The Bible's interesting. And sometimes, you know, you get into it, a little more time. So a little more time we have. We're going to pick it up where we left off yesterday. If you did miss yesterday's episode, today's going to make a lot more sense if you go back and catch it.

We're going to get after Jesus. Love one another. remember, this is one of the Bible camp ones that you memorize and then you have it forever.

A new command I give you, this is Jesus, love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

By this, all men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another. And you can see how that

teaching of Jesus in John 13 is further developed

in the passage I just read from John 15 and then further, further developed in Jesus' prayer to the

father before he gets arrested in John 17. By this, will all men know you are my disciples if you love one another?

When you have that in the back of your head and you're going through the rest of the New

Testament, it really helps to remember that that was a command of Jesus. He's like, this is how

it's going to work. When Jesus says, go and make disciples of all nations and teach him to obey

everything I've commanded and baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

this was the commissioning as well. He restates this commission repeatedly here in the book of John,

you got to love one another, you got to love one another, you got to love one another.

That's key to the whole thing. Paul says all these other

beautiful attributes of the kingdom. You can't hold them all at once unless they're bound together

by the carrying case, the rhythm, the conveniencing not that is love. That's the thing that holds

all the stuff together and makes it make sense for the Christian life, for the Christian

mission. This is the thing. So back to my point, when you read through the whole New Testament,

and I recently had to dig deep into all of it in a very short period of time because I'm writing

this book, this field guide for the Bible that's going to be coming out soon. And I'm trying to
