I for one like the turd sandwich. I, for one, like the turd sandwich.

I think it's a great technique for telling people a difficult thing or for being told a difficult thing.

Because it puts it all in perspective.

It reminds you that there's a whole bunch of good stuff, but there's just some stuff we've got to work on right here in the middle.

Are you familiar with the idea of the turd sandwich?

I think we've talked about it before.

You probably heard of the turd sandwich.

You probably have been on the receiving end of the turd sandwich,

and you've probably dealt out a few turd sandwiches in your life.

The principle goes like this.

You got a sandwich.

You got the bun on the top, and you got the bun on the bottom, in the middle, you have whatever you filled your sandwich with.

So if there's a difficult conversation to be had, sometimes a good way to handle it is to remind

people of something good.

This is going great.

This is awesome.

Wonderful.

Now here's the difficult thing.

That's the turd sandwich part.

That's the part in the middle, the undesirable part. But what happens next? There's more delicious fun. Here's some other great

things that are going on. And I understand fully that there are going to be some of you who are

like, I don't like that beating around the bush. Just don't get me the turd sandwich.
