This is the 10-minute Bible Hour podcast, and everybody knows about the star-crossed lovers' motif and storytelling.

This is the Romeo and Juliet thing, super famous. It's the two people who are in love, but because of circumstances beyond their control, they can never be together.

But only slightly less well known than that

is, I don't know what the term is for it, just making one up. The star crossed friends motif.

This is where you got two pals who like each other and they have history and they ought to be on

the same side, but circumstances drive a wedge or they should be pals but they have this one big ideological

difference and you root for them to get along and there's a tragedy to the fact that it

isn't working out between them and sometimes in these kinds of stories things do work out

in the end and they are able to come together and pull in the same direction.

Other times it's a tragedy.
