When I was a kid, I would go to church stuff and youth group stuff, Bible camp, rallies and things like that.

It's just, I mean, that's what you did when you're growing up in a Christian household in the 80s and 90s.

There were all kinds of youth events and everything.

And they were pretty fun.

I mean, as I've said before, there's plenty to make fun of

lots of things that were campy or silly now, but really isn't everything from that era, easy fodder

for making fun of now because nothing stays fashionable anymore. We turn over fads really quickly.

So whatever you think is cool right the second is going to look stupid in a few years and we'll all have a laugh about it. Well, the same thing is true with a bunch of trends and

youth Christian things from back then. And we kind of knew even back then that it was a little bit

silly, but whatever. I mean, this is what we were around. It's what we experienced. And one of the

things that I remember from a lot of those events

was that the speakers would get really serious, and so many of them would say, you kids, you're going to

pay a great price for following Jesus. This is not popular. You're going to be hated, you're going to

be made fun of, people are going to want to fight you. You might not even be able to do business with

people if you admit what you believe in public. And we're all very... fun of. People are going to want to fight you. You might not even be able to do business with people

our parents said to listen to the speakers or whatever. But when they leave, we'd all kind of

giggle about that part because we're all going, uh, it's fine being a Christian. Like, we're all pretty out there with our faith or whatever his kids and

nobody's mad. All the politicians go to church, or at least when the video cameras are rolling,

and Amy Grant is in the top 40. The God is in the Pledge of Allegiance. It says God on on the money even. And John 316 is the football

games. I don't know. Nobody really seems that mad. Then I can remember a few times in school,

people trying to get under my skin, you know, rivals or bullies or whatever, maybe making a comment
