We'll start the story in Shreveport, Louisiana, where Danny Rowling was born to a police officer named James.

He often told Danny that he was unwanted.

His abuse, though, wasn't just limited to Danny.

He had a tendency to hit his wife, Danny's mother, Claudia, and his brother, Kevin.

Claudia tried many times to leave him, but always came back. One day, after fighting with Danny,
