For almost everyone who lived in Discovery Mountain,

well, they were acquainted with this kind of spring thunderstorm, and they slept soundly.

But the new arrivals to town, well, they hardly slept a wink.

In the middle of the night, Jamie Simon crawled down from her cozy loft bed and into bed with her mom.

Gatchit woke up, howled, and whimpered a little, and then found Mr Simon and curled up at the foot of his bed.

Jake Donovan was not as fortunate.

All night he shivered in the damp corner of a cave in the forest on the edge of town. But now, as the morning sun rose and the

Nettolarks sang their tune, Jake stumbled tiredly into Mr Simon's store, trekkers.

He needed to warm up and to refill his food supply.
