Gabe Sapolsky is a man of many hats in the world of pro wrestling and sports entertainment.

One of those hats is being the creative mastermind behind Evolve.

Gabe, thank you for taking the time.

Let's start with the beginning.

How did Evolve begin?

Hey, thanks for having me on, Jimmy, and thanks for everybody out there listening, too.

I really appreciate you taking some time to hear this.

And it's funny, WWE on their YouTube just released a video with Daniel Bryan,

kind of explained where the name came from.

And basically, I had been parted ways of from Ring of Honor, which I, you know, I created and, uh, was with for seven years. And, uh, you know, I was kind of falling out with the owner at that point. And, um, it was a few months later. And, uh, Brian and I had kept talking. This is before Brian went to WWE.

And he was kind of getting bored of what was going on there.

And we kind of both had this vision for kind of like a new formal for wrestling, a new way

of pro wrestling.

And Brian then actually came up with the name Evolve because he liked the idea that

this is going to evolve the art of

pro wrestling or the sport of pro wrestling however you want to phrase it so um you know we saw that

there was a lot of interesting talent out there and basically like it was just a feeling that like

the formula that had been working for so many years uh just needed to be changed and and brian is

always a very creative guy who's looking to change

and um i mean we saw that recently with him he did that you know he could have been writing that

yes thing as a baby face for the rest of his life you know and instead he completely switched things up
