Welcome to The Beat. I'm Ari Melburgh, and today we have a special report on what New York prosecutors might be eyeing on Trump going beyond what we've heard earlier this week.

There's new reporting on that later tonight on the beat. The big legal development making waves right now is coming from a different jurisdiction, though, than New York.

It is how Georgia prosecutors have been building a case against Trump down there over what might be a lot

more significant to many people than any financial issues in New York, which was the effort

to overturn our democracy to steal the election, to cancel out your votes.

The guy's running for president again, so all of this is quite relevant.

Now, we first learned secret details about that very probe when the four

person spoke out. I bet you recall that. It was fascinating. It was an unusual development. It drew

criticism from people who really care about the justice system. And regardless of what she was

saying, critical Mr. Trump, there were concerns about that. You may recall that. Well, right now,

it's not the exact same,

but it's her colleagues, if you will, five more grand jurors speaking out with new revelations.

This is not the same type of on-camera interview, but we're getting facts. We're getting evidence.

One says the evidence is actually so strong that they reviewed that the country would not be

as divided as it is right now if everyone just really knew all of the information they had. This is

a new, newly revealed, damning call that Donald Trump made into Georgia to the House Speaker down there

that was demanding Republicans convene a session to steal the race Trump lost to Biden in Georgia.

So they actually heard this call.

But apparently, according to these multiple jurors, the Republican on the other end of the phone was not having it.

Quote, the speaker basically cut the president off. He said, I will do everything in my power

that I think is appropriate. Took the wind right out of Trump sales, the juror says, and quote,
