Summary

In my home, we did our best, but our best was certainly not perfection. We just had committed hearts toward our kids and the desire to shape their souls to respond passionately to their Creator. He came with grace and truth to bring life and wholeness into our hearts. We strive to follow His example in the lives of our children. We are not guided by culture, or what other moms feel is the "right way", but we are led by God. We walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and rest in His grace.

0:13.0

privilege in the world to be with so many friends from all over the world who join me every

0:18.6

week to listen to my stories, inspiration, biblical encouragement. And I am just so glad

0:24.6

that you're here today. Thanks so much for joining me.

Hello my friends, happy December to you. I hope you're doing well. And I promised you

0:43.7

last week that I had a bunch of G words that I was going to be studying with you. And I don't

0:50.4

know how they came to me. It's funny how the Holy Spirit works sometimes because I was right

0:54.7

in the middle of writing my book, the Awakening Wonder, which you'll hear about eventually. But anyway,

1:01.1

I was sitting in a hotel lobby that I often go to to get away from life and responsibility because

1:06.2

I can hardly write when the dog is barking and the UPS guy comes to the door and the phone rings

1:12.8

and Clay wants me to do some task here and one of my children call. And so I was away at this hotel

1:19.6

writing. And then all of a sudden, as I was writing all of these G words came to me that were very

1:25.0

significant that I thought I need to study these words. I need to think about this. So today,

1:30.7

Dundalandalana, the G word that I'm going to talk to you about is the word giver or giving. And I was

1:41.4

thinking about how what a picture it is to the world when we give without reserve, when we give

1:50.8

abundantly, when we give to people who don't deserve it. And especially at this time of year in the

1:56.6

holiday season, money is tight and everybody has a need. And of course, that's when the car brakes

2:04.2

will go out or the washing machine breaks, whatever. But I wanted to talk about what the spirit of

2:09.9

giving is because we have a God who is a giver. And the whole season itself is about God becoming man

2:23.5

and laying down his life, serving, sacrificing, loving, giving his life to the whole world.

2:32.1

So what does it really mean to give? I want to explore this because it was very convicting to me

2:37.8

again. And as you think about giving gifts this year, I want you to know that probably the best gift
