Greetings Clark's World Citizens. How are you as the days become warmer? Our hot teas are

replaced with iced. Our heaters are replaced with air conditioners. It's only going to get worse

over the next couple of months so I hope you're keeping cool as you listen to

this podcast. I won't keep you long before we jump into our main

fiction for the month of June 2010, but I did want to talk to you about a short

story published back in October of 2009. I think you might be familiar with it.

Spar by Kids Johnson, but I wanted to tell you it was up for yet another award. The

Theodore Sturgeon Award jury really liked the work that Kedge did with

Spar. And like last year, being on the jury, Kidge declined to have her story on the ballot.

It just goes to illustrate that Kidge is both a woman of writing talent and class. So an unofficial congratulations goes out to Kitch.

And to quote the lovely Cheryl Morgan from her blog,

it is a bit disappointing, but it does show that that for a variety of reasons.

Kidge is absolutely the right sort of person to be judging that award.

And now it's time for our reminder of the Hugo's. Yes, I only got a couple times until the

voting closes to talk to you about them. So again, you don't even have to attend the year. All you have to do is buy a

supporting membership. You're eligible to vote. Please, if you are a fan of

science fiction and fantasy, don't squander this opportunity to show what you love.

And as a reminder voting does close on July 31st.

So don't delay and don't forget that they do have that Hugo voting packet.

You get a lot of the works that are up for the Hugo Awards in a downloadable packet.

So that's another reason not to wait. You have a lot of reading to do.
