Well, pray with me once more as we move into the word this morning, please.

Father, I ask for your help now again so that I would be faithful to your word and I pray that you would give me balance

biblically and that my heart would be in tune with the worth of what we see here and that collectively

we would have teachable spirits that you would guard us from the evil one who is marauding and seeking to

distort and distract and destroy and that the Holy Spirit would brood over this place with great anointing and freedom,

and empowerment and purifying presence.

And so, Lord, cause your word to stand forth

and accomplish that for which you gave it.

I ask this in Jesus powerful name,

Amen.

What I said last night, in essence was that if we're going to share in God's heart for the nations, we have to share in God's heart for the nations, we have to share in God's heart for God. And we have to experience that as good news, that it's joy to experience the supremacy of God in the heart of God. And thirdly, we need to experience the life that is a life of holiness that overflows from this joy in God and his supremacy.

So that's the outline. We've moved into it, but we only got briefly into that second passion.

to try to

persuade you that God's heart for God runs from eternity to eternity and that the ultimate reason

that he has created the universe and has fulfilled his redemptive purposes or is fulfilling them is to display

his glory for the enjoyment of his people being gathered from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.

Then we only got a beginning into this second point, namely that that's got to feel like good news to you. That God is

supreme in the heart of God should be your joy.

And yet it seems to many people like a selfish thing of God to do to put himself forward is so glorious all the time and to call

attention to himself.

C.S. Lewis really stumbled over this.
