their games against South Korea and Japan. But first, let's talk about it, everyone. It was a spit

that was felt around the world. Luis Suarez, horrible scenes of him spitting at a staff member

of the Seattle Sounders after Inter Miami lost in the Leagues Cup final.

Now after a couple of days, it took some time, but Luis Suarez has finally broken his silence and has issued this statement slash apology.

He says, first, I want to congratulate the Seattle Sounders for their Leagues Cup triumph, but most of all, I want to

apologize for my behavior when the game ended. It was a moment of much tension and frustration

where just after the game ended, things happened that shouldn't have happened, but that

doesn't justify my reaction. I made a mistake and I sincerely apologize. It's not the image I want to give in

front of my family that suffers because of my mistakes in front of my club that also doesn't

deserve seeing themselves affected by something like this. I feel bad for what happened and

I didn't want to let past the opportunity to recognize and apologize to

everything that felt bad for what I did. We know there is still a lot of season left ahead and

we will work together to try to get the triumphs that this club and its fans deserve. A hug

to all. Now accept that hug at your own peril, let me tell you. Casey,

you know I'm going to come to you first because I know you still have very personal connections

with the Sounders as well, but what are your thoughts now after hearing that statement from

Luis Suarez, that apology, if you will, and the timing of it as well.
