What's the limit?

We might have exceeded it of what one should.

Here's the thing.

It depends on who you ask.

If you break it, you could reasonably break each of those up to a sermon, but then you'd kind of have to commit to teaching Acts for three years. Right. At that point, our church would be like Oregon Trail. Like it would be a totally different group of people at the end of Acts and from the beginning. You know what I mean? Like, there's too big a turnover in this town, you know? So we're going to do acts over the course of a year.

I don't know if we've ever fully came out and said that.

I can't remember.

Yeah, yeah. So we're doing it by season. So this one's this season. So I thought it had a logic to show them that whole progression. You know, if you wanted to distill it down, summarize it, it's the first miracle that Peter does, that the church does, through the power of Jesus, Jesus is doing through his people.

But the main thrust of this passage is making it clear in no uncertain terms.

Jesus is the Messiah we've been waiting for. He is the one you need to respond to. This is Peter making that offering to his Jewish brothers, the Jewish people. So much of the thrust of the first part of Acts, one of the major themes, is that this is your Messiah,

the one you were waiting for in the Old Testament that everyone from Moses through Samuel and the rest prophesied,

this is him.
