It's funny you should mention, two guest Rachel Feinstein Rachel Feinstein is a

fantastic comedian a from my not limited but somewhat limited exposure.

A wonderful person going to say good mother.

Very funny.

That's the important thing.

Maybe he's a terrible mother, but is funny about being a mother.

Is funny about being a wife. She does characters, she offers observations, she actually is a great writer. Funny you should mention the premise thesis of the program is that comedians are something of the new public intellectuals.

Let us ask them questions as we would a public intellectual.

Now Rachel does not hold herself out to be as such.

She's not really philosophizing on stage per se, but she really is,

when she embodies people or talks about her ideas and expounds upon her ideas, she's laying out a worldview.

So this episode, unlike all the others in the series,

is going to be more of how she comes to her perspectives on the world. a lot of that like all of us goes back to childhood goes back to her parents perceptions of her and her perception of herself.

And I never say this during the interview, but you're going to hear about how she was

poked and prodded and studied and mind scanned. And she has this self-perception as a not terribly good student and maybe I'm hearing not

conventionally intelligent we talk about this I just wanted to say because I never

did in the interview she's actually something of a genius.

And I don't mean that in the general sense

that her comedy is wonderful and transcendent.

She understands and has a deep insight into so many of the things she talks about and
