Let's get into the mix. Here are your Washington headlines of the day. Number one, the appropriations process is getting messy.

Number two, Congress enters the Epstein chat. And number three, rescissions rage. All right, Jake,

let's get into it. We have a very meaty top here. We're going to break it up to three parts this

morning because there's a ton to get to. But the first things first, yesterday people might

have said, hey, guys, we're 83 days, 84 days from funding. Why are we talking about a government

shutdown? But I think this morning's top reflects the fact of how difficult and tense it is when

it comes to the appropriations process that it's not just the House where things are a mess,

but it's the Senate, which typically the appropriations process has been much more of a bipartisan

we're going to figure out the spending levels. We're going to work on, you know, what's going to

happen at the committee level and come to an agreement and then kind of move things along.

That is not happening this time.

No, it's not.

As you said, the Senate usually passes their 12 bills most of the time on a bipartisan basis.

They always talk about that.
