I actually first met Matthew at a Learn Japanese Pod event many moons ago and we've been friends ever since. He's massively

helped with the podcast through his support advice and he even managed to help me

fix the website when we got hacked by cyber terrorists. True story. Now Matthew

is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, treatment that's at the

cutting edge of today's medical technology here in Japan.

He just finished a course of proton beam therapy and he's also undergoing regular immunotherapy treatment.

Needless to say, it's incredibly expensive,

but it can help him live longer.
