He was not signed in the offseason after being released by the Steelers very early in

2025.

If you recall, the Packers traded Preston Smith to the Steelers last year at the trade deadline.

Smith was not a good fit for the four-3 base defense in Green Bay that Hathley,

the new defensive coordinator last year brought in, and he went to Pittsburgh.

Well, now he's in Washington where their base defense is primarily a 4-3.

We'll see how it works out.
