John sound a little rough after all these years and all those cigarettes.

You can imagine here this really promising musician growing up in Indiana.

You get a bunch of attention.

You play in a bunch of gigs.

You start recording in a big record company says, Hey, we really want to put

at your music.

We think you're going to be huge.

But here's the problem.

You can't call yourself John Mellon camp because nobody will remember it.

Nobody will listen to your music.

You got to call yourself Johnny Cougar.

And I'm sure John Mellon camp said, What am I going to make porn or what?

They talked him into it and so he was Johnny Cougar than John Cougar.

Then finally said, Look, let's go with John Cougar Mellon camp.

Then finally after selling a trillion albums, he was John Mellon camp again.

But anyway, the point being he's put out a new song called The Eyes of Portland, which

includes such lines as, as I saw through the eyes of Portland one day, there were so many

homeless they'd all gone astray.
