Buster, you've been working on this story about Braves' first baseman Freddie Freeman for a long time now.

What drew you to his story?

Well, of course, you know, he's one of the best players in baseball.

MVP of the National players in baseball.

MVP of the National League in 2020, he was probably the most prominent athlete to have a serious case of coronavirus, with his temperature spiking in July to 104.5.

But as we did this, oh my goodness, it really, in my 20 years at ESPN, it's one of the most rewarding stories that I've done, one of the most inspiring stories that I've done because there's just so many layers.

And to see the relationships within Freddie's family and how his life has really come full circle from the time he was a little boy.

To what he experienced in the last year that had COVID to win NLNBP last year.

But the Freddie Freeman you don't know is even more remarkable.

Today, Buster Olney shares an exclusive and emotional portrait of one of the game's best players who opens up as never before about loss and loved ones and how hard it can be to build a family of your own.

So we're talking to you today about this new E60 documentary that you've been working on for a while that's coming out on Sunday. It is called Full Circle, the Freddie Freeman story. And it's about so much more than this guy who's really good

at baseball. It's about family and his journey to starting his family and why that's so important

to him. So I just want to start here at the beginning of that Circle, Buster. Who was Freddie Freeman

before he became the All-Star we know him as today? He was a happy kid growing up in Orange County, California.

With two older brothers, with his mom, Rosemary, and his dad, Fred, you know, fell in love with baseball in an early age.

My first real memory is T-ball. I was five years old.

I'm left-handed.

I went up there and stood left-handed, and I guess my coach tried to turn me around,

right-handed, and my mom came storming up and goes, he's left-handed, he's going to stay left-handed.
