First, a preliminary report on the Air India crash, which killed 260 people last month, has found that fuel was cut to the plane's engines just moments before it came down.

Investigators do not attribute blame, but highlight confusion in the cockpit.

What of a conversation or part of it first between pilot and co-pilot?

Well, the audio from the cockpit that has been detailed in the report

suggests that there was some bit of a surprise and a confusion in the cockpit itself.

With one of the pilots asking the other, did you cut off the fuel supply?

And the other one responding, no, I did not.

This clearly, you know, the report also clearly highlights that it was the fuel control switches that were turned from the run to the cut-off position,

cutting off the fuel supply to both the engines that led to the aircraft losing thrust.

But what would have caused the fuel switches to turn to the cut-off position

is something that is still in question and will still need to be, you know, investigated further.

And the cockpit voice recorder, the discussion between the two pilots,

indicates that there was confusion in the cockpit also.

This is a first report.

15 pages, I understand, have been made public.

What else do we learn? Well, three key important

bits. One, that the report does not highlight any immediate advisories for the manufacturers,

both for Boeing on the 787 dreamliners or to the GE GE whose engines have been used in these aircrafts.
