last night we had the Oklahoma City Thunder

being plowed into a brick wall by Russell Westbrook as he somehow managed to turn this series all about him

yet again as he declared he was going to shut down Ricky Rubio, which to give you a proper context,

Ricky Rubio wouldn't even crack the top 30 of NBA ball players, let alone be considered a top 10 player.

He had a good game in game three.

But the fact that Russell Westbrook went out of his way saying he was going to shut out rookie

Rubio, who's pretty much a past first point guard.

You knew this was not going to end well for Oklahoma City, and in fact it was their worst loss of the playoffs thus far.

So now they're down 3-1 to the Utah Jazz which again is primarily a one-man team of Donovan Mitchell setting records left and right.

Basically he joins an exclusive company with M.J. and Karim Abdul Jabbar as the only

rookies to score 110 points in the playoffs as a rookie obviously but be that as it may the fact that Russ picked up two

early fouls got himself out a game and allowed Utah to control the pace of the game and do whatever they wanted to the thunder, it's the height of selfishness.

Because at the end of the day, basketball is a team game.

Russ took it upon himself to try and be overly aggressive with Rubio, got himself in foul trouble and his team was never recovered

for that. Then in the post-game presser he gets a snipy with the reporter asking

if the aggressive play was detrimental to his team and he flat out

said that it's not about Rubio and him when he was the one who brought up the fact that he was going to shut down Ricky Rubio.
