And let's just get a couple of things out of the way.

Honestly, this year had such a low bar to clear in terms of the selection committee after the

atrocities committed by last year's committee, uh, weaseling in North Carolina when they had no business being in the tournament,

that this was an incredibly low bar to clear. And they did clear it, albeit with some caveats.

One of the tradeoffs is the fact that it is beyond obvious. This committee formed its selections multiple days in advance of Sunday.

So the seating still doesn't make a ton of sense.

Outside of just maybe flipping Michigan State and Purdue,

not much changed into seating.

So even though St. John's beat Yukon, convincingly, by the way,

and had the regular season title for the Big East somewhere, St. John's is a five-seat?

St. Johnson is a five-seat St. John's is a five seat.

It is literally one of the most ridiculous seatings I have ever seen a committee pull off,

and it makes no sense. But the most obvious explanation is this committee had St. John's penciled in for so long on the five line
