Hey, everybody. Red Powell and Adam Camilleri. What up? Oh, hey. Welcome, everyone. Hopefully everyone is having a cool holiday season, maybe getting some time to work on some projects or just time to relax and reflect and everything else. You know, or it's just another day and you're out there with that hustle which is all good things but

0:54.8

thanks for coming here and joining us we're going to talk a little bit about uh probably the the necrons

0:59.7

they did really well this past weekend and the tournaments probably the first weekend that their

1:03.7

codex was legal yeah so you know we see we saw some results from them which is cool and i really

1:09.1

don't think it's necessarily like the new codex phenomenon like Like there's to be like a shock to the system. Like, of course the new thing's going to do well. But not necessarily maybe because it's too powerful because people haven't time had the reps to play against it. So there might be some gotchas in there. Well, it's definitely a case that when we're in relatively stable waters of the game at the moment, things are pretty well understood. I'm not quite sure the games is, well, I think the top kind of top end of the game is pretty sold. But we knew, Paul and many others are really excited about how the middle of the game Kim's kind of turning over every now and then orcs just kind of pop up and win a thing. and then they go back down a bit and death guard rises up or chaos nights or something else comes out of the middle of the pack and just has a phenomenal run but um because of that when a new kiosk gets injected and it brings things that are a little bit different to what we're what everyone's kind of churning on up until that point because that's that's why things keep turning over in the middle meta, the middle of the game is because people are just constantly evolving 25% of their armies

2:05.6

to get them over that hump that they didn't cross the previous time.

2:08.6

And players getting more confident with their skills and figuring out how to adjust

2:14.6

to certain things on the fly, i.e. injected into the meta. Yeah, there's also something to be said for the fact that when you have two, you know, big dogs of the meadow, that being Cal Space Marines and Eldar that have been the big dogs for months, the targets on their back get very established. And the ways that people understand how to unpack those problems get very well understood as well. And so when everyone knows what the questions you need to answer are, when a whole bunch of new

2:36.7

questions come in that you didn't consider before, you didn't have to consider before, absolutely you get some shakeups like we just saw this weekend. I was playing with a buddy over the past weekend. And he's playing Eldari and it tried out different things in his list. And one of his comments was that, you know, people are aware of the

2:52.1

tricks that the Eldari list proposes. And so they are, don't necessarily walk right into those

2:58.0

things anymore or figured out ways to play around them or even prevent some of them from being,

3:02.7

you know, having a big impact in the game, which is a, it's not, not saying they're not powerful.

3:07.0

And, you know, you cannot, you still have to do that. You're now changing what you may want to do during the game, which is a very powerful thing. But people are very aware of that. So that's what we're talking about when, uh, you say that those things are known quantities is not only do people are know they're going to be be there but they're familiar with the amies in

3:25.4

the air quotes tricks that the army is capable of doing well and to that point you know we we also saw
