Hey everyone. It's time to forge the narrative. Everybody, welcome to a special episode of Forge the Narrative. My name is Paul Murphy, your host. I'm joined today by Jeff Robinson. What's up? Thanks for having, Paul. Yo, man, you are an international competitor. In gaming, yes, not in Warhammer, not yet. I don't have to claim it. I left it open. I left it open. But you are a competitive gamer, like just through and through. Yep, that's my day job.

At least what I know you for is bringing what I would consider maybe unconventional list in the Warhammer world and still doing incredibly well with them.

0:46.1

Yeah, thank you.

0:47.0

I'm mostly a tarranted and, you know, a Debtus Mechanica centric guy.

0:51.4

So I think when you field armies like that, I mean, everyone talked about

0:54.6

the war convocation and seventh edition. So that was, I had my own take on it. I guess that's where the unconventional comes in, but for the most part, a lot of the same moving parts. And then with Terranet's, prior to eighth edition, you really had to do some weird stuff to make that work. So I guess that's where I get a bit of that reputation. It's hard not to like or not to

1:12.0

have like the war commocation because they were such awesome looking figures. It had amazing rules

1:17.4

and really gave you an advantage on the tabletop just in general. It was a really, really cool

1:23.0

finesse army. It was one of those armies where if you saw someone running it, there was like two kinds of players you were about to hit. There was the person that just wanted to play ad mech and that was probably the best way to do it. So, you know, whatever, two nights are cool, one night's cool, bigger vanguard units. It's all fun. And those guys, probably not tournament winners, probably not the biggest and best players. But that army just gave them the tools to be somewhat mid-range competitive and have fun, which is really important in seventh edition because other armies did not have that ability. You could just take the best thing you could with your tarynids or your sisters and I don't care who you are. You're probably going to get your butt handed to you. But the war convocation allowed you do that. And there's the other war convocation player that's really practiced it and knows about those chemicals and really gets the synergy going. And you felt rewarded for all those choices. So it was a really cool army. And that's what I want to talk about, at least the army adept as mechanics on this episode. The Codex has just been released. I saw you playing on the

2:18.6

Frontline Gaming Channel. Yeah. I got a couple games in and we're building a couple things that I have.

2:23.2

I have a massive Adeptis Mechanicus collection, but the things that I didn't have were like

2:27.1

Sidonian Dragoons and Electropreece, certainly not 20 of them. So waiting a little bit for that,

2:33.5

but I'm really excited to get them in my list and get playing. So you are a fan of the models in the faction itself and not just the power used to have. Is that correct? Absolutely. Yeah. When it was first even rumored, because as everything in Warhammer, you know, we heard about it before we knew about it, I was just like, yep, I'm going to collect that, no matter what it was.

2:52.1

If it was a complete stinker, that would be fine. The idea of robots and cyborgs and just the whole fluff behind the Deptons Mechanicus is way up there in terms of some of my favorite stuff. When we see this book compared to some other things, you know, like Rabutea Gillum and list built around that.

3:07.2

And some other things, you know,

3:08.8

all the spoilers we've been hearing recently about Imperial Guard

3:11.3

as from, the things, you know, like Rabutee Gillum and list built around that and some other things,

3:08.6

you know, all the spoilers we've been hearing recently about Imperial Guard, Asramo

3:11.6

and just stuff that may come out down the road. The Adeptus Mechanicus don't have to me those

3:17.2

kind of like standout, amazing, like over the top rules. There seems to be still a lot of

3:22.9

finesse built into this. And I wanted to

3:25.2

get your take on that. And maybe not just like this unit can beat up the other unit type talk,
