Welcome into another edition of Courtside with Coach J. Ride. I am Iris Schofel, managing at our Wardtamp.com. I'm joined as always by my co-host and the man of the hour, Jacob Ridenauer, long time, Florida State.

Assistant basketball coach has been in the business for a long time. Now does TV work. You guys know all that.

By now you've been watching these shows. And we're going to talk this week about FSU's big games against Miami and Clepson, a huge week this past week, this week ahead where they've got to go to Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh. And then just talk about the landscape of college basketball in the state of Florida with Florida State, Miami, and Florida. So we're about to get started. How are you doing, Jacob? Man, I'm great. You know, it's basketball season, man. We're coming down to March. It's like the greatest time of the year for us is like Christmas. It is, man. It is. It's hard to believe. They only have FSU only has three regular season games left. I mean, it's, it's kind of, you know, it's like they just started playing so well and you don't want to see it end, but you also want to see what they can do in the ACC tournament, which should be cool as well. But let's go back to the week that was huge win at Clemson. That was a game that I think if we had taken the temperature last week, you know, we thought they could play with Clemson,

but that seemed like a really tall task, just like the week before at Virginia Tech.

I don't think a lot of people were predicting they were going to win at Virginia Tech,

but in a kind of similar fashion, Florida State just kind of wore Clemson down at the end,

like just made more plays down the stretch in a game where

there were points where I thought, okay, Clemson's going to pull away, but they just never

pulled away. You've been it, Little John, a number of times on the bench, on the coaching staff.

How hard of a game is that to win? And just what impressed you about FSU winning that game?

Well, you know, you said it.

If you're looking at the schedule and looking at the road games and knowing how this rivalry with

really the coaching staffs, I would say, as much as at the schools, but the Clemson, Florida State

games become really a hostile game amongst the two programs. And it's a tough, very tough place to play. And you look at it and you go, man, you got to play really good because they make it really ugly and then make it so tough. But, you know, man, Luke did a great job and his staff, Coach Laox and his staff did a great job getting that team ready. And they went in a little John and just took them toe to toe. And like you said, they beat them in the paint. They beat them with defense. They beat them with rebounding. It's like they did all the things that Clemson does to you. They just did it right back to them. Yeah. And I think, you know, again, like we talked about going on the road. Why is it hard to win on the road and you know

historically you know teams even teams have finished in the top half of the conference a lot of

times we'll have a losing road record it's just hard to win on the road I guess you know what do

you think's been some of the keys to them having the success on the road because we'll talk about

at the end of the show but they do have a big road trip coming up. Not great competition. They're playing a Georgia Tech and a pit team that are not very good, but it is two more road games. Like what has given this team the ability to win these games and close them out late on the road? Well, one of the things I'll say is, and we've kind of talked about it and I've talked about a bunch of people, but the team has kind of come together.

You know, like, because it's a brand new team.

It's like almost every player's new and everything.

So it's like the team is kind of jailed as the seasons went along and like not only have they figured out their roles on the court,

they figured out their roles like with each other, you know?
