If you had turned to John, please, this morning, the 15th chapter.

John 15, we began last week on a new series.

We're calling fruitfulness.

Fruitfulness.

And this is our text passage right here in the 15th chapter of John.

Jesus is speaking.

He said, verse 1, I am the true vine.

Who's the vine?

Jesus is the vine.

And my father is the husbandman.

He is the vineyard tender, the farmer.

Every branch in me, how many?

Everyone that bears not fruit, he takes away.

And every branch that bears fruit, he purges it that it may bring forth more fruit.

Now think about this.

What good is a branch that bears no fruit?

Well, it must not be much good if he removes them.

Branches are supposed to bear fruit.

And as we touched on last week, the Lord is very interested in us bearing fruit.
