Welcome to the prayers of rest podcast. I'm your host, Ashrida Chuchu, and this season we're praying through the fruit of the spirit.

Specifically, what does a fruitful life look like? And how can we bear much fruit from a place of resting in God, abiding in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ?

Today we're praying through peace.

And I think this is so relevant to us, especially as we're coming off of a year and a half of the world feeling like it's turned upside

down and anxiety levels are through the roof. So many of us struggle to fall asleep at night.

So I think we could all use more peace in our lives. And I hope that as you listen to this episode and pray along,

that even in the next 10 minutes, you would feel God's peace begin to invade your heart and

mind. As we begin, find a quiet place where you won't be interrupted and take a deep breath as we enter into God's presence together.

Today's reading is John 14, verse 27.

Jesus said, peace, I leave with you my peace I give you so let's begin by

reciting God's goodness praising him for who he is and for what he has done in our lives

oh Jesus you are the Prince of Peace. When you walked this earth, wherever you went, you brought peace with you.

From speaking peace and stillness over the raging storm, to bringing wholeness and healing

to the cripple and the blind, to restoring life to the dead, to Lazarus, to the widow's

son.

You, Jesus, are the one who restores God's peace, the shalom of harmony with God

and bringing your kingdom into this world, into a place that is so broken and bruised by sin and death.

Oh Jesus, you brought your peace and you are the one who continues to offer your peace

to all who abide and rest in you.

So in the next few moments, praise God for the specific ways in which

he has brought peace in your life, in your relationships. When are the moments when you

turn to him and cried out for that peace and stillness.
