Today's a little different.

We're taking a short break from our regular episode release to do some catching up.

This recap covers the first 20 or so episodes of Frostborn.

If you haven't been with us from the very start, or if it feels daunting to dive headfirst into

hours and hours of storytelling, don't worry. This is for you. Consider it the previously on

for the last several months of adventuring, a way to get the shape of the story without having to

binge the whole back catalog. So, if you're new here, this is Dungeons and Randomness. We've been telling stories

together in the world of Theria for well over a decade now. Epic adventures, big consequences,

and more than a few disasters caused by, well, I was going to say rolling crit fails, but it's

mostly just our own decisions. Theria is our setting, a massive, dangerous, ever-shifting world where every decision sticks and every roll of the dice really matters.

Right now, we're in our latest campaign, Arc 6, called Frostborn.

It's a brand new jumping endpoint.

You don't need to know the previous arcs to enjoy it, though

long-time listeners will hear echoes and callbacks all across the world. Frostborn starts more

than a century after the last major arc, and the continent of Elara has been locked in an

endless winter for almost that long. That's where our story begins. Before we dive into our group's questionable decision-making,

let's set the stage, because it's not just fantasy but cold. This is a continent fundamentally

broken by one dragon's grief. Over a century ago, Aruthamar, the great black dragon of Orash, watched her dream burn.
