There are so many amazing moms doing incredible things in the world and we want to shed some light on some of the unsung hero moms working on the front lines of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Hina Talib, MD is a board-certified Pediatrician and Adolescent Medicine sub-specialist, practicing at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in New York City, one of the Coronavirus’ hardest hit Burroughs, Bronx NY at the height of the pandemic. Although she is a Pediatrician, she was called to care for adult patients facing COVID-19 disease, during a recent deployment while her hospital faced the NYC peak. This was the first time she cared for adult patients since she was a medical student!
Now, during the pandemic, she is caring for patients both in-person and by telehealth while wrangling her 2 and 4-year-old toddlers. She talks to Hilaria and Daphne about her experience on the front lines of the pandemic, the realities of stress and anxiety that quarantine is putting on children and how to handle these issues with our kids.
